Anaheim GardenWalk, located within the Anaheim Resort District and near Disneyland, is looking to broaden their business types including possibly a cat cafe and event center/banquet hall.

Scheduled to appear on an upcoming Anaheim Planning Commission meeting on Monday, December 7, 2020 (meeting starts at 5:00 PM), Anaheim GardenWalk proposes expanding their commercial use type beyond what is addressed or allowed by its Conditional Use Permit (CUP). The proposed additional commercial type includes:

  • Cat or Dog Cafe
  • Event Center/Banquet Hall
  • Personal Services - General (examples include: beauty salons, nail salons, art, music, and photography studios)
  • Beer, Wine, and/or Craft Spirit Tasting Room and Sales (does not include production or manufacturing of alcoholic beverages)
  • Pod Hotel or Hostel

Anaheim GardenWalk has two proposed tenants that are currently outside of their business types:

  • Cat Cafe: 9 Lives for Mew

The proposed tenant will collaborate with a local adoption/rescue agency to raise awareness, and to house cats that are available for adoption. Tenant would also hold special cat related events open to the public and patrons including:

    • Yoga with cats
    • Cat parties
    • Educational speakers on special topics of animal awareness

The cafe portion would consist of two areas separated by a glass wall providing customers the option to watch cats without having to be in the cat lounge. Because of the presence of prepped and packaged food, the cafe area would be off limits to the cats.

  • Event Center/Banquet Facility: STC Center Banquet Hall

STC Center has an existing location in Rowland Heights, the potential tenant is looking to expand into Orange County.

While there are no proposed tenants for the latter three business types, these are also proposed so as to broaden future opportunities for Anaheim GardenWalk.
